Bought this in size age 10 for a small 9yr old,
It is ridiculously small, I would say this would fit a 5yr old. Sort your sizing out, now I need to go shopping again :(
Tried an age 10 swimsuit on my 8 year old, it was tiny! Got an age 12 which is still stupidly small. Please take this off sale and re do the sizes to stop wasting people's time. Should have read reviews first!!
I bought this swimsuit in size 8 yrs for my 5 year old daughter with the idea of her growing into it. It was too small! My daughter is not overweight, just slightly taller than average.
This is very small in size. I have just bought an age 12 one for my small 8.5 year old. It won’t last much longer.
As others have already noted, the sizing of this swimsuit is ridiculous. Having considered other reviews, I ordered a size 8 years for a just turned 5 year old - it's probably more suited to a 3/4 year old. While Decathlon does provide sizing information, the size 8 years (125-132cm) swimsuit is 4 cm shorter than the suit (age 4-5 years, 104-110 cm) it was supposed to replace. It's a shame as the suit is a nice design but it's impossible to order with any confidence.
Yet again Decathlon’s sizing lets them down. Bought an age 8 for a very slim 8 year old. Compared with another retailer’s 7-8 costume the decathlon one was 6cm shorter in the body!!!! I see in previous feedback Decathlon has tried to fob customers off with something about their sizes designed to fit global markets, i.e. implying that Westerners are too fat, I suppose! However the only 8 yr old who could fit this costume in an age 8 would have to be suffering from restricted growth/ malnutrition, and therefore highly unlikely to be in the market for a swimming costume!
My daughter is a slim 6 soon to be 7 year old of average height. Ordered 2 costumes in size 7-8 and there was about 4" difference in length! This one was smaller than her current one age 5-6. LSo would recommend as lovely coloured costume but buy bigger.
Returned. Age 10 was too small for a small 8.5 year old
Sizing guide a joke, ordered 10years for a 7year old would be more suited to a 5 year old. Surely decathlon have a responsibility to put correct labels/sizes on clothing.
Dear Julie Ann,Thank you for your recent feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found our swimsuit too small. We are working on new size template for children's clothes to make it more up to today's market and more regional as Decathlon sells the same models around the world. Also, to help to choose correct size we added to each product page, just above the box with size selection blue colour link "find your size" where you can see chart with metric and imperial height linked to each size. In addition to that we made visible customer's feedback where you can check opinion from customers about the size who already bought the product. We are working also on this tool development to make sure in the future everything is in one place and it should help to choose correct size. Please return this item to your local store or use the online procedure for full refund or exchange.Once again apologies for any inconvenience caused.Kind regards KORNEL
