Technical Information

1
Safety
Despite what many people may think, tamper-proof locks do not exist. A bike lock is there to make stealing the bike more complicated, to delay the thief and therefore act as a deterrent. A good lock has an anti-picking lock mechanism and is made out of materials which require very specific tools to break or cut through, making theft more difficult.
2
Security rating
The security rating helps you choose the lock that is most suited to your use. For this reason, B'Twin defined a test protocol jointly with an independent laboratory, CNPP, based on real-life theft techniques. This unique protocol allows each lock to be given a comparable rating indicating how resistant it is to theft. This rating ranges from 0 (least secure) to 10 (most secure).

Used for 2 to 8 weeks
The padlock is alright, its easy to lock and unlock ur bike however it's not safe as I've had my bike that I've invested over £1000 into cut and robbed.
Response of the brand
Thank you for posting this review. I'm sorry to read that your bike was stolen.
We market this lock for accessories or for very short stops (a few minutes). For longer stops we always recommend a strong D or Chain lock with a rating greater than 7 out of 10.

Peter, Cycling Manager, DECATHLON
Decathlon should not sell it.
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Used it twice, now my two sons bikes are (I hope!) locked in front of Tesco in Richmond, and I don't know what to do to release them. Rubish!!

I'm sorry to read that your bikes are still locked up. Please contact your local Decathlon store in Wandsworth for assistance.

Code stops working after 3 uses
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Worked first 3 times now my bike is stuck at tesco garage unable to unlock with my code. My husband has to walk a mile with a hacksaw to free it from this not fit for purpose lock. Looking at the reviews I'm not the first person to have this happen too. I've lost my receipt but I hope I will get a refund when I return in to store sawn in half?!
Response of the brand
I'm sorry to read that the lock has seized up. I will forward your experience on to the product manager at b'Twin.
There should not be an issue for a refund at all.

Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Had the lock two weeks, used it twice. On the second time someone cut through it no problem and stole my bike - avoid
Response of the brand
Dear Sir,
I'm sorry to read that a thief cut through this accessory lock. It is terrible when this happens.
We try not to market this as a bike lock but more for accessories or as a second lock to slow down thieves. The cable thickness means that with large bolt cutters, it can be severed.
For longer stops and for a better level of security, we would always recommend a high rating D Lock or Chain lock.

Combi lock
Excellent quality & price
Very good lock, shame about unlocking!
Used for 7 to 12 months
I bought this lock as it coils up tightly and I wouldn't need to carry a key. After my last ride I secured my bike to its mount in the garage and the joist of the ceiling (mounted at head height to save floor space) but I am now unable to unlock it. The code is the same I use for other items but it is stuck solid! I am now having to procure something to cut it so I can take it back, thankfully it didn't fail when secured to a cycle rack! I'd still recommend as its only for deterrence, however I'd probably spend a bit extra on a different type/model as I can't trust this type.
Response of the brand
Dear Sir,
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback on this bike lock. If the item is faulty then please do not hesitate to return it with your receipt for a refund or a replacement lock.
