Technical Information

1
Safety
Despite what many people may think, tamper-proof locks do not exist. A bike lock is there to make stealing the bike more complicated, to delay the thief and therefore act as a deterrent. A good lock has an anti-picking lock mechanism and is made out of materials that require very specific tools to break or cut through, making theft more difficult.
2
Security rating
The security rating helps you choose the lock that is most suited to your use. For this reason, B'TWIN defined a test protocol with an independent laboratory, CNPP, based on real-life theft techniques. This unique protocol allows each lock to be given a comparable rating from 0 to 10 indicating how theft resistant it is.

Horrible lock
Used for 1 week or less
This is a horrible lock. It changed its combination on its own within a week of purchasing it, and now I can't even unlock my own bike. If you read through the recent reviews, this is quite a common experience. Why does decathlon continue to sell this garbage?
Combination lock is faulty
Used for 1 week or less
I bought this lock as part of the three pack (two with keys and this combo). The combo lock has somehow reset itself on the second day I had it - it was locked about six times in total as I have used it to go between my works different sites. - and now won't work. Luckily the lock was off the bike when this happened otherwise my brand new bike would have been exposed to theft and damage.
Response of the brand
I'm sorry to read that there is an issue with your lock. Please don't hesitate to return it to store for a refund or an exchange.

Rubbish Product
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
2nd time using it and it won't open , now need to buy a hacksaw (which I expect decathlon to pay for) to cut it off as we are away on holiday in our Caravan and can't travel home now.
Response of the brand
I'm sorry to read that your lock will not open. It is hard to say exactly why this happened. I hope you were able to remove it with ease.
If you feel the item is faulty, please return it to us for a refund or an exchange.

Review
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
The padlock is alright, its easy to lock and unlock ur bike however it's not safe as I've had my bike that I've invested over £1000 into cut and robbed.
Response of the brand
Thank you for posting this review. I'm sorry to read that your bike was stolen.
We market this lock for accessories or for very short stops (a few minutes). For longer stops we always recommend a strong D or Chain lock with a rating greater than 7 out of 10.

Decathlon should not sell it.
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Used it twice, now my two sons bikes are (I hope!) locked in front of Tesco in Richmond, and I don't know what to do to release them. Rubish!!
Response of the brand
Thank you for taking the time to post a review of these accessory locks.
I'm sorry to read that your bikes are still locked up. Please contact your local Decathlon store in Wandsworth for assistance.
