That’s why we’re here. Producing and distributing our own products allow us to make them affordable for everyone everywhere in world.
Innovation, research and development
Behind each product, there is an idea, a need, an expectation or an intuition emanating from an athlete, customer or collaborator, which comes alive in the minds of design teams and stimulates their creativity. To create 2,800 new products a year on average, it takes many ideas. This is how Decathlon innovates: We put the user at the center of our approach. By observing the sportsmen in their practice and by listening to them, our sales people, product managers, designers, engineers are able to imagine the products of tomorrow.
Our 30 internal laboratories located near the sports areas, employing more than 150 engineers, test each year several thousand. We also rely on a network of 120 partner laboratories in 16 countries. Their goal is to recreate the conditions of the use of products to detect any weaknesses and improve them.
For 40 years, our design and manufacturing teams have not compromised on quality! With professional focus groups, we test the products in the labs before they go out to the stores. Our main goal is to make sports easier, accessible and create an innovative and interesting experience through our products.
